The Fairway Glide Machine

The Maul is renowned for being one of the most accessible fairway drivers in the Latitude 64 lineup, and the Opto Air technology amplifies these benefits. By shifting weight away from the center, we have created a disc that is incredibly easy to get up to speed. For players reaching targets between 70m / 230ft and 95m / 310ft, the Opto Air Maul provides the perfect amount of lift to navigate tight fairways or gain extra distance in open fields.

Versatility and Control

Whether you are learning to throw your first high-speed driver or looking for a reliable technical tool for the woods, this disc delivers. Because it is PDGA Approved, tournament players can rely on it for sanctioned play when they need a lightweight option for long tailwind drives or precision finesse shots. The Opto Air plastic ensures a comfortable grip and extreme resilience, standing up to high-speed impacts with ease while maintaining its smooth release.

FAQ

While both have extreme glide, the Maul is slightly more understable. If you find that the River is staying too straight or you want a disc that turns over more easily for long right-turning shots (for right-handed backhand), the Opto Air Maul is the superior choice.

Opto Air utilizes our premium, highly durable Opto plastic but introduces micro-bubbles into the plastic matrix to significantly reduce the overall weight of the disc. This advanced lightweight design allows players with slower arm speeds to generate more snap and achieve a much faster release. It is the absolute perfect choice for developing players, juniors, or anyone looking to effortlessly push their drives past the 100m / 330ft mark with less physical effort.

Yes. Because Opto Air discs are lighter, they require significantly less energy to reach their full intended flight path. This naturally results in a slightly more understable flight and massive glide compared to their heavier counterparts. While they are exceptional tools for effortless distance in calm conditions or massive tailwind bombs, players should be aware that their lighter weight makes them slightly more susceptible to being pushed off-line by stiff headwinds.

Customers praised this lightweight disc golf driver for its exceptional glide and straight flight path. Reviewers said it "goes straight and glides forever" and is "perfect for slower arm speeds." The disc holds its line reliably and works well for 150-200 foot shaped shots. Ideal for beginners and intermediate players seeking effortless distance.

  • It glides forever and if not over torqued? Will be laser straight. Unbelievable disc
  • Goes straight and glides forever. Great disc for wood courses.
  • The Opto Air Maul absolutely delivers! So consistent - so reliable!

Great understable lightweight disc for slower arm speeds

The AIR version of this disc has the same stability as a regular Maul but will beat in fatser and become more understable.

Really love the straight flight of the Maul. The weight is perfect for me, no need for full power.

Thank you for your review.

It's great to hear that you are enjoying the Opto Air Maul. :)

This is a great utility disc - love to bag a light and heavy maul for medium distance (150-200 foot) shaped shots. The maul holds the line I put it on and has a fantastic amount of glide. I can throw the lighter disc and hyzer flip it or the heavier disc and muscle it but have it hold the line it was released on.

Hej där!
Tack för din recension. Kul att du gillar Opto Air Maul. :)

under the radar zinger

I am someone who leans heavily on air discs and thought to date, my air Jade was the best disc in my bag. Not any more. This air Maul does what it says on the tin. It glides forever and if not over torqued? Will be laser straight. Unbelievable disc

Hey Davina,

Thanks for the review.

Effortless

As someone who throws the Maul a ton, I was really pleasantly surprised by how the Opto Air Maul flies.
It has every bit of that classic, unmatched Maul flight, but is effortless to get a low, long, hyzer flip with.
I've reached the circle off the tee on wooded holes I've never come close to before with this.
Thrown flat, it holds that gentle turnover before slightly flattening out at the end. Amazing disc, I'll be picking up a few more as they become available.

Opto Air Maul

I was super jazzed to see the Air Maul getting released again. I know players in the US would like to see that mold released more frequently. Please make a run of those for Dynamic Discs distribution. Thanks again!

Epitome of Reliability

At age 67, I need all the glide I can get to make up for my slower arm speed and the Opto Air Maul absolutely delivers! The slightly-understable flight is a great complement to my straight-flying River. So consistent - so reliable!
