This is one of our more understable distance drivers. It is almost as fast as a lightning bolt and has an understable flight path with good glide. This is the perfect distance driver for players with slower arm speed that want to throw far. For experienced players with more power, the Bolt can still be useful when fast and understable is what you are looking for.

Unreliable

Unfortunately for me the Bolt is way too flippy throwing backhand shots. Perhaps I lack the required technique to throw it properly but out of 100ish throws there's only a handful of times where it didn't flip out of control and roll for eternity. Therefore it's too unreliable for my liking.
Love the River though, that disc is like a cheat code for the technically challenged.

Hello Rasmus,

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry to hear that the Bolt dosen't suit you.
However, it's great to hear that you like the River. :)

Have a great day!

Far flier

I saw Jonathan at Latitude 64 using it so I wanted one myself. I like it alot and get quite some distance out of it.

Good for low armspeed, or utility

I throw around 130-140m, and for me, the Bolt is a great under-stable utility disc. Also great for any low-arm speed players.

Big turns, beautiful lines

I don't have a very strong forehand, so I lean pretty heavily on really understable discs. One of the first shots I ever threw with my Opto orbit Bolt was a gnarly hole with 5-6 trees straight ahead, about 30' off the tee pad. For my RHBH shot, I had to throw it about 15-20 degrees to the left of the basket line to clear the trees, but the Bolt made a huge right turn, then glided all the way to the basket, nearly acing it. It's the only disc I use on that hole now.
This has become my go-to for anything requiring a huge right turn, however, the flight numbers I get are closer to 13/6/-3/1. I have a pretty fast arm, I can hit the 400' mark with a Ballista, which may have some impact on the flight path of my Bolt, but I personally get a much stronger turn with very little fade at the end.
Love it, no notes for y'all on this one.

I am a Bolt lover for over 15 years. This one is another winner. I am 63 and still getting personal bests on my distance by prefecting my form and throwing good plastic like the Bolt.
