Description
WILD is our speed 14 distance driver made to break your distance record. With a thinner lid it is designed to fly straighter and more penetrating than conventional distance drivers, with extra glide late in the flight. Built for players who want to attack the course with their absolute max distance. PROTOTYPE TEST RELEASE This is the first public test run of MAX Wild. Only 2,000 discs are being released worldwide — 1,000 in the US and 1,000 in Europe. Because Wild is still in development, future production runs may differ in plastic feel, construction, flight, or other details as we continue refining MAX. THROW IT. TEST IT. HELP SHAPE WHAT COMES NEXT. Wild is a prototype, and your experience matters. Tell us how it flies, how it compares with your usual distance driver, and what you notice about its distance, stability, and feel. Your feedback from this test run will help guide the next stage of MAX development.

Product images are representative examples only and may not show the exact disc you receive. Disc color shades, swirl patterns, transparency, and foil stamp colors can vary significantly between individual discs. Unless otherwise stated, exact color and foil combinations cannot be guaranteed.

FAQ

Max is Latitude 64°'s new plastic and mold technology built to push the limits of distance. It uses a new molding technique that allows for thinner lids than conventional molding, shifting more weight toward the rim. The Wild is the first disc released in Max plastic.

More weight toward the rim increases the disc’s gyroscopic stability in flight. This can help the disc retain spin longer, maintain a flatter and more penetrating flight, and carry with more glide late in the flight, where conventional distance drivers may begin to fade and lose forward momentum.

Yes. Wild is the first release, but we have bigger plans for Max in 2027.

High-speed distance driver praised for exceptional glide and distance gains. Customers said it adds 20-75ft to their throws, with some reaching 400-500ft+. "It's literally my farthest flying disc." Requires strong arm speed (55mph+) to unlock potential. Some found it more overstable than expected, while others noted it can turn over. Feels comfortable in hand despite 14-speed rating.

  • It's literally my farthest flying disc. This somehow goes even farther
  • This one was pushing me closer to 400. This disc feels great
  • My farthest throw on flat ground was 448 feet. The flight is really something to see

Good disc

Good disc, that feels good in the hand.
More distance with less effort

Wild is Bolt-like but no Bolt

I’ve been throwing the Wild where I’d use a Bolt. It doesn’t really replace the Bolt as I get straighter throws from my Bolt and more predictable fade from my Rive. And the Wild has not been carrying further either. So it isn’t offering me something new for my bag.

Good but not revolutionary as I’d hoped.

Great disc! Easy distance!

Great disc! Easy distance! Would love to see a little bit more dome, but overall flies great. Still don't know how I feel about the plastic, kinda almost feels like Gold ice which I'm not a big fan of. This disc in Grand or Clear plastic with more dome would be a real dream! As an MA40 player I throw about 380 with my beat in Rive and 400 with Ballista Pro, but Wild goes over 400 every time. Can't wait to see the final version of the disc , meanwhile gonna get me Clear Rive in blue ) Thanks Latitude 64!

Such a good high speed disc

Such a good high speed disc. The closest thing that I'd compare it to would be imagining a Q-Line Ballista. That's exactly what I thought after the first few throws with it. And the Max Wild does, in fact, go reallly far!

The Max Wild = Distance + Greatness

The Max Wild is a great bomber disc! I feel confident throwing a flex line or hyzer bomb. It feels bigger in the hand, hence it being a 14 speed, especially for someone who has smaller hands. However, it feels weirdly comfortable. Also, I would think the glide was a 6 or a 7. And I would think the turn to be a -1 and the fade to be a 3. I thoroughly enjoy throwing this mold! It works well for both forehand and backhand. And the plastic feels like a nice premium thrower. I also really enjoy the experimentation with the weight being put from the middle to the rim. Now I just have to decide if it’s making the bag or not. If anything, it’s a disc that I would recommend people to try out!

Love the Innovation! Yet to see full potential.

I don’t have too many throws with it yet (probably around 30 total), but I have yet to throw it further than my Grace or Sapphire. It’s possible I just don’t have 14 arm speed to get it to fly to its potential. I throw Forehand and I keep turning it over which is odd for me. I wonder if the heavy rim and flimsy center is causing it to flex differently with my snappy release? I’d be interested to see how a 10 or 11 speed disc would fly with this same weight distribution as this Wild Mold when compared to a similar speed disc like the Grace. Love the innovation though! I’m hopeful I’ll get this thing flying to its potential!

More stable than expected.

I have thrown the Max a few times, and let a few of fellow players try it as well to see what others with higher arm speed think, and the consensus amongst my groups is that it is far more over stable then expected. With my arm speed I am right around 350 ft and the others are over 400 ft, and all of us with a nice flat release weren't able to get any turn out of it at all. It very well might be the one I received is more over stable than it is meant to be. Everyone loved the feel of the plastic, so points for that, but most likely it wont be making my bag.

NOT JUST FOR BIG ARMS

This is a follow up to my first review of the first of two Wild Max discs I purchased. I began playing Disc Golf at 60 and throw a lot of discs. Lat 64 is my favorite. I bought 2 Max Wilds and on my first outing throwing them was impressed. I'm now 66 and still improving my form. But in 12 throws I hit just under 400 feet THREE times. The best I did the same day on my Ballista Air was 348. There's definitely something to this new disc design!!!!

Amazing Flyer! Bomber disc!

I decided to get this disc and put it in the fieldwork bag. I've been trying to hit 500 ft and was headed out to do some throws. This thing bombs! I almost hit 500, feel just 3 feet short this time out, with the Max being my two furthest throws of the day. It has a good flip up, slight drift and reliable fade at the end of its flight for the perfect S shaped flight. The new plastic feels very similar to the Q Line of Discmania, this bombs like the DD1, without being as flippy and hard to nail the perfect angle with. Went straight in the bag! Absolutely love crushing with this disc

Absolutely love crushing with this disc. I have a few other drivers that come close to the Wild, but this disc just has effortless distance. The flight numbers say 14 speed but plays closer to a stable 11 or 12 speed. I've pushed this disc to 380' and that was at 80% power. Waiting until I have a long downhill to really unwind on this thing.

YMMV

I haven't been able to throw it a ton as I'm recovering from an injury, but I did take it to a field to compare to other discs I consider to be "far flying" for me. I have a 169g Gold Ballista that is generally my furthest flyer, and it remains so. Some other discs that I can throw as far or further than this Wild would be a Tournament Sword, VIP Moonshine King, older Dyemax Fuzion Raider, and VIP-X Orbit Destiny that came in the recent Westside box. I'll keep trying it, but right now not putting it in my bag. For reference I can throw about 425' if I get a hold of it just right, but not always repeatable.

Got One and IMMEDIATLEY bought another.

I wanted to share some info BEFORE throwing. I am not a "big arm guy". But on a good day with 10-15 mph wind I can get a Ballista out to 400 feet. The properties on this disc are what got my attention. They are just like the Ballista except with glide 6. So I SHOULD be able to throw it farther. I ordered immediately. Then when I got it, if felt so good in my hand and was quite flat I BOUGHT ANOTHER. Still haven't thrown but felt this info was helpful. FEELS great for forehand too!!! I'll let you know. Thanks LAT 64

Max Wild Distance Driver

Threw my personal best 405ft using a forehand throw. Felt overstable, really need a fast/strong arm to get it out there. Lives up to 14 speed tag it’s given. Very fun to throw!

I guess it was just too fast for me.

I guess it is just too fast for me, it felt heavy and way overstable and I didn't get very good distance from it. I've only played with it once, so I will try again and see if I can get more out of it.

Hey Donald,

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry to hear the Max Wild wasn't a good fit your you. Perhaps you'll get more out of it the next time you try it. :)
Ps, love the bird on your head! :D

Trying yet

I am not confident to comment yet but it is not much different.

Very good so far

The Max Wild prototype has been very impressive thus far. Usually with these types of “easy” distance discs, they need space to ride a big turn to get a ton of distance. On the few test throws I did, I threw on slight hyzer, it stood up to flat and just went straight for the majority of its flight. I got 440 ft on one of those test flights. My furthest ever is 450 with a big anhyzer release w/lightweight. I really appreciate that this disc can handle decent power (I’m 390-400ft for most power shots). Very impressive again, and intrigued by how it performs in the future.

Great feeling disc and it does go far!! Shipment

Great feeling disc and it does go far and I love it for my max distance open shots!! Shipment was delayed and I got it later than expected but I got it just in time, a day before a tournament that had a distance competition.
My friend won the distance competition with it. He threw 576 feet!!

Great flyer and it bombs

Great flyer and it bombs, personally I love the ballista in gold plastic but its stable for gold plastic other ones were too understable and became rollers in gold plastic. The max wild allows for me to have less fear in losing my ballista. Now I just need a ballista pro in max plastic

I don't have the arm speed

I'll start by saying that i don't have the arm speed for a 14 speed disc. I had a 2 round tournament this past weekend and got lots of reps in with the max wild prototype. I threw it several times in practice rounds and several times in the tournament rounds. Each time came with the same results. Pretty overstable for my arm speed.i figured out that I could throw it better on a forehand flex line to get a little more carry than my normal 12sp forehand throw. I think this technology would work better in a slower speed for an amateur player. 14 is just to much disc for me

New personal record

Flew incredibly well. I usually throw around 300-330’ with my current farthest flight being a grace at 343 and a Bolt on hyzer flip at 360. The Max Wild was able to beat both without flipping at all putting up a 398!!! Missing 400 by just a few feet and setting a new Personal Record for me.
