Opto Ruby

The Latitude 64° Ruby is the perfect introduction to the world of putting and approaching. It was developed to be the most accessible putter on the market, specifically catering to players who find traditional putters too heavy or too stable. The Ruby is thin, lightweight, and features an understable flight path (-3 turn) that compensates for lower arm speeds, allowing the disc to stay on a straight line for a remarkably long time.

Crafted in our legendary Opto plastic, the Ruby is built to withstand the learning process. Opto is a premium, translucent plastic known for its extreme resilience and firm, consistent grip. Whether you are a junior player, a senior, or a beginner looking for a disc that is easy to control on both drives and putts, the Ruby provides a smooth and rewarding performance that builds confidence on every hole.

Features and Benefits

  • Massive Airtime: Speed 3 and Glide 5 make this one of the most efficient putters for generating distance with minimal effort.

  • Highly Understable: The -3 turn makes it incredibly easy to keep the disc from fading out too early, ensuring a straighter overall flight.

  • Gentle Finish: A Fade of 1 provides a predictable but very mild finish at the end of the flight.

  • Opto Plastic: Known for its beautiful translucent finish and its ability to withstand hits against trees and obstacles while learning.

  • Lightweight Advantage: Part of our specialized Easy-to-Use line, typically found in lighter weights that are easier for most people to handle.

  • Versatile Utility: Excellent for straight putts, soft turnover approaches, and learning how to throw straight off the tee.

  • PDGA Approved: Fully certified for professional and amateur tournament play worldwide.

FAQ

Opto is our premium, translucent plastic blend engineered to withstand the harshest course conditions. It is incredibly resistant to tree hits, rock scrapes, and heavy impacts, ensuring that your disc retains its original flight characteristics for a very long time. It is the absolute best choice for players who want their go-to discs to maintain their reliable, predictable flight round after round.

Opto provides a slightly stiffer feel and a smooth, premium grip that inspires championship confidence. Due to its dense and resilient composition, discs molded in Opto plastic typically start out slightly more overstable out of the box compared to our baseline blends, providing exceptional torque resistance for powerful throws.

Won’t Be thrown just yet!

Bought this putter due to the light weight, color, and the Name. It shared a name with my first daughter, Ruby who just turned 1! A proud dad who’s starting to put together my little girls first disc bag! She sure does have her first putter!!

Just received the Opto Ruby, but haven't had a chance to spin it yet. I'm an "older" beginner, but with conversations with more talented "chain bangers", I have been told it's an awesome disc for beginners and in general. Looking forward to letting ity sail.

Exactly what I wanted from an approach disc. My 8-year old loves it too and can get quite a bit of distance out of it.

Love this disc. I'm in my late fifties and just started playing about a year ago. For me, the Diamond, Fuse and Ruby are Great discs to start with......I am getting to the point where I use the Ruby for approach shots. Great disc, highly recommended.
