Opto Pearl

The Latitude 64° Pearl is the ultimate confidence-builder on the course. It was developed to be the most accessible midrange in the world, specifically catering to players who struggle to keep heavier or more stable discs on a straight line. The Pearl is thin, lightweight, and features a unique understable flight path (-4 turn) that compensates for lower arm speeds, allowing the disc to flip up to flat and glide for a surprisingly long time.

Crafted in our legendary Opto plastic, the Pearl is built to withstand the learning process. Opto is a premium, translucent plastic known for its extreme resilience and firm, consistent grip. Whether you are a junior player, a senior, or a beginner looking for a disc that won't immediately dive into the ground, the Pearl provides a smooth and rewarding performance that makes learning the game of disc golf more enjoyable than ever.

Features and Benefits

  • Exceptional Airtime: Speed 4 and Glide 6 make this one of the most efficient midranges for generating distance with minimal effort.

  • Highly Understable: The -4 turn makes it incredibly easy to keep the disc from fading out too early, ensuring a straighter overall flight.

  • Neutral Finish: A Fade of 0 means the disc has almost no hook at the end, providing a very predictable landing zone.

  • Opto Plastic: Known for its beautiful translucent finish and its ability to withstand hits against trees and obstacles while learning.

  • Small-Grip Advantage: Part of our specialized Easy-to-Use line, typically found in lighter weights (sub-160g) that are easier for most people to handle.

  • Versatile Utility: Excellent for straight approaches, soft turnovers, and learning how to control release angles.

  • PDGA Approved: Fully certified for professional and amateur tournament play worldwide.

FAQ

Opto is our premium, translucent plastic blend engineered to withstand the harshest course conditions. It is incredibly resistant to tree hits, rock scrapes, and heavy impacts, ensuring that your disc retains its original flight characteristics for a very long time. It is the absolute best choice for players who want their go-to discs to maintain their reliable, predictable flight round after round.

Opto provides a slightly stiffer feel and a smooth, premium grip that inspires championship confidence. Due to its dense and resilient composition, discs molded in Opto plastic typically start out slightly more overstable out of the box compared to our baseline blends, providing exceptional torque resistance for powerful throws.

Customers praised this mid-range disc golf disc for its straight flight, exceptional glide, and ease of use. Ideal for beginners and those with low arm speed, it excels at forehand/backhand approaches and turnover shots. "Flies straight, glides forever" said customers. Some noted it can be too understable in wind and may turn over excessively.

Low Power Save Strokes

The Opto Pearl 158g
RHBH
when thrown with low power --> is easy to float !
can get nice turnovers under 200 feet ( 61 m ).
straight or hyzer too.
great for new backhand players and pros who can finesse low power. if i am trying to go between trees and hit target. -- The Pearl flies with such small effort, that is is most accurate. i bought to get out of trouble in low ceiling wooded shots. it does this better than any disc i have tried.
i have tried hundreds.
i learned on old school innova , discraft, Latitude 64'has great flight control and great quality discs.
love the pink opto plastic.
durable and easy to find.

not for sidearm, but amazing low speed threads thru trees !!!
maybe a great disc to train / teach backhand approach control.
would like to try in 165g and 145 g .

Great lightweight mid-range for beginners

The light weight and understability make this an easy disc to throw for beginners or those with very low arm speed.

Good for forehand and backhand.

Love this disc for forehand approaches. Also for backhand it is useful for not too far shots. I get quite straight flights out of it (as a beginner tending to hyzer).

My favorite little Panda

I was in need of an understable approach disc for my bag, something to help me get out of tight spots on my home course that is heavily wooded. This disc has surpassed my expectations. Very comfortable to throw/flick in tight spots, and the Opto plastic looks and feels great!

Hello Sarah,

Thank you for the review.

Great to hear that the Opto Pearl managed to surpass your expectations. :)

Pearl

My favorite disc. I'm a senior with small hands and this disc works great for me. I have low arm speed and I can throw this disc with the most accuracy. I lost this disc on vacation and immediately ordered a new one when I got home.

Thanks for the review! We're glad you like our Opto Pearl.

Wishing you a beautiful day.

Hi! Thank you for your review of the Opto Pearl. We're sorry to hear that you only had the chance to throw it once. We hope that you have better luck with the second one! :)

Have a great day!

Self selling

Simplifies the act of disc throwing for beginners that I tend to loan mine to other beginners. So I bought a few extra. Recently, two beginners got a couple each after using mine. Only downside may be that it could be too forgiving, thus allowing development of poor habits before a beginner gets good enough to progress to more advanced discs.

Superb Novice Weapon

A local disc shop thought this disc (154g) would be perfect for me (74 yo, less than 2 years playing) for dead straight upshots with my low arm speed. They were correct! I bought two more plus a Opto Diamond (154g), an incredible driver for me.

Opto Pearl Rocks!

i have gotten into Disc Golf late in life and have a slow arm speed. I throw a lightweight Opto Pearl which truly glides through the air. It feels great, is easy to throw, and gives me great distance. Love the Pearl (and Fuse and Maul!)!
