Opto Bolt

The Latitude 64° Bolt is like a lightning strike on the fairway. It was developed to provide high-speed performance for players who don't necessarily have the arm speed of a top-tier professional. The Bolt is intentionally designed to be understable, which allows it to "stay up" and glide for a long time, even when thrown with moderate power. It’s the ultimate choice for long, beautiful S-curves and tailwind bombs.

Crafted in our legendary Opto plastic, the Bolt offers a perfect balance of a firm grip and extreme durability. Opto is one of the most resilient plastics in the industry, ensuring that even if your Bolt catches a tree at high speed, its flight path remains true. Whether you are looking to reach that 100-meter mark for the first time or need a reliable turnover driver for long open holes, the Bolt delivers speed and distance with remarkable ease.

Features and Benefits

  • Incredible Distance: Speed 13 and Glide 6 make this one of the longest-flying discs in the Latitude 64 lineup.

  • Workable Understability: The -2 turn makes it accessible for intermediate players to achieve a full flight path.

  • Predictable Finish: A Fade of 3 ensures that the disc has enough stability to fight back at the end of its flight.

  • Opto Plastic: Known for its beautiful translucent finish and its ability to withstand severe wear and tear.

  • Aerodynamic Profile: Designed with a slim, fast rim that minimizes drag for maximum exit velocity.

  • Skill Level: An excellent "first high-speed driver" for intermediate players and a great turnover tool for pros.

  • PDGA Approved: Fully certified for professional and amateur tournament play worldwide.

FAQ

Opto is our premium, translucent plastic blend engineered to withstand the harshest course conditions. It is incredibly resistant to tree hits, rock scrapes, and heavy impacts, ensuring that your disc retains its original flight characteristics for a very long time. It is the absolute best choice for players who want their go-to discs to maintain their reliable, predictable flight round after round.

Opto provides a slightly stiffer feel and a smooth, premium grip that inspires championship confidence. Due to its dense and resilient composition, discs molded in Opto plastic typically start out slightly more overstable out of the box compared to our baseline blends, providing exceptional torque resistance for powerful throws.

This disc golf driver excels at distance, with customers reporting gains of 50+ feet. "Great for beginners" achieving 240ft straight throws, while experienced players reach 400ft+. The disc requires proper technique as it can flip without correct form. Some found it "too flippy," needing skill to control. Praised for quality and versatility across arm speeds.

  • I've went from 275 to 365 ft, my form has improved a lot
  • I was struggling to reach 200 feet, but not with this one. A couple of throws hitting 240ft
  • 50+ feet extra on my best distance shot before it. Love it!

Just right

The disc does flip over if not right technique but on the up side it has transformed my game. I'm 59 years old and I've went from 275 to on my last throw 365 ft....my form has improved alot by mostly using my lower half of my body more...

Great for beginners

This disc is fantastic. As a low-speed beginner, I was struggling to reach 200 feet, but not with this one. A couple of throws as I was hitting 240ft and keeping it nice and straight. As time goes on, it's only going to get even better.

Opto Bolts fly! I can easily get par 3 on holes that are 300-400ft away. I recommend the Opto over thr Gold if you understand the disc better. Opto is less forgiving as the gold but you trade the forgivness for performance.

love the Bolt

We bought the disc because we watch and enjoy Jonathan's videos. So we needed something from Latitude 64. Plus my husband really likes it.

Hello Deb,

Thank you for your review.

Great to hear that you are enjoying Jonathan's videos and the Opto Bolt. :)

The Bolt bolt’s

There really isn’t much to say other than BUY A FUSE I mean bolt. It is a great disc for just about any arm speed and the quality is unmatched. But also buy a fuse.

Unreliable

Unfortunately for me the Bolt is way too flippy throwing backhand shots. Perhaps I lack the required technique to throw it properly but out of 100ish throws there's only a handful of times where it didn't flip out of control and roll for eternity. Therefore it's too unreliable for my liking.
Love the River though, that disc is like a cheat code for the technically challenged.

Hello Rasmus,

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry to hear that the Bolt dosen't suit you.
However, it's great to hear that you like the River. :)

Have a great day!

Far flier

I saw Jonathan at Latitude 64 using it so I wanted one myself. I like it alot and get quite some distance out of it.

Good for low armspeed, or utility

I throw around 130-140m, and for me, the Bolt is a great under-stable utility disc. Also great for any low-arm speed players.

Big turns, beautiful lines

I don't have a very strong forehand, so I lean pretty heavily on really understable discs. One of the first shots I ever threw with my Opto orbit Bolt was a gnarly hole with 5-6 trees straight ahead, about 30' off the tee pad. For my RHBH shot, I had to throw it about 15-20 degrees to the left of the basket line to clear the trees, but the Bolt made a huge right turn, then glided all the way to the basket, nearly acing it. It's the only disc I use on that hole now.
This has become my go-to for anything requiring a huge right turn, however, the flight numbers I get are closer to 13/6/-3/1. I have a pretty fast arm, I can hit the 400' mark with a Ballista, which may have some impact on the flight path of my Bolt, but I personally get a much stronger turn with very little fade at the end.
Love it, no notes for y'all on this one.

I am a Bolt lover for over 15 years. This one is another winner. I am 63 and still getting personal bests on my distance by prefecting my form and throwing good plastic like the Bolt.

450+

My go to for open long lines. I use to use a opto fury but it got to where I can't throw it without burning it over so i read about this disc and bought 1. 50+ feet extra on my best distance shot before it. Love it!

Soooo flippy

So I had an old bolt in frost plastic and every so often I would get a super max distance line with it 400ft+ when my average is 350ft. Wanted to try a brand new one so chose Opto and it is so flippy. I can throw it on hyzer and still get a roller out of it. Might be a great roller disc but no giant long range S lines I was hoping for. Great color ( orange) and great service and shipping from Lat. would recommend for someone with 250-300ft of distance and expect 40+ft to your longest drive .

I don’t have the arm/form

I think this disc will be fucking nasty once I get my form right. As it stands now I just don’t have the arm to get it to work like it’s supposed to.

Built for the water

I was eagerly expecting perfect throws, which I nearly accomplished, except for that GODDAMN tree that rose out of the ground as if Jesus felt like pissing on my exceptional throw. Bolt took it like a champ, ricocheted right off the GODDAMN tree and flew straight into the water and sank to the bottom. Goodbye forever, Bolt.
