WILD is our speed 14 distance driver made to break your distance record. With a thinner lid it is designed to fly straighter and more penetrating than conventional distance drivers, with extra glide late in the flight. Built for players who want to attack the course with their absolute max distance.

PROTOTYPE TEST RELEASE

This is the first public test run of MAX Wild. Only 2,000 discs are being released worldwide — 1,000 in the US and 1,000 in Europe.

Because Wild is still in development, future production runs may differ in plastic feel, construction, flight, or other details as we continue refining MAX.

THROW IT. TEST IT. HELP SHAPE WHAT COMES NEXT.

Wild is a prototype, and your experience matters. Tell us how it flies, how it compares with your usual distance driver, and what you notice about its distance, stability, and feel.

Your feedback from this test run will help guide the next stage of MAX development.

Product images are representative examples only and may not show the exact disc you receive. Disc color shades, swirl patterns, transparency, and foil stamp colors can vary significantly between individual discs. Unless otherwise stated, exact color and foil combinations cannot be guaranteed.

FAQ

Max is Latitude 64°'s new plastic and mold technology built to push the limits of distance. It uses a new molding technique that allows for thinner lids than conventional molding, shifting more weight toward the rim. The Wild is the first disc released in Max plastic.

More weight toward the rim increases the disc’s gyroscopic stability in flight. This can help the disc retain spin longer, maintain a flatter and more penetrating flight, and carry with more glide late in the flight, where conventional distance drivers may begin to fade and lose forward momentum.

Yes. Wild is the first release, but we have bigger plans for Max in 2027.

YMMV

I haven't been able to throw it a ton as I'm recovering from an injury, but I did take it to a field to compare to other discs I consider to be "far flying" for me. I have a 169g Gold Ballista that is generally my furthest flyer, and it remains so. Some other discs that I can throw as far or further than this Wild would be a Tournament Sword, VIP Moonshine King, older Dyemax Fuzion Raider, and VIP-X Orbit Destiny that came in the recent Westside box. I'll keep trying it, but right now not putting it in my bag. For reference I can throw about 425' if I get a hold of it just right, but not always repeatable.

Max Wild Distance Driver

Threw my personal best 405ft using a forehand throw. Felt overstable, really need a fast/strong arm to get it out there. Lives up to 14 speed tag it’s given. Very fun to throw!

I guess it was just too fast for me.

I guess it is just too fast for me, it felt heavy and way overstable and I didn't get very good distance from it. I've only played with it once, so I will try again and see if I can get more out of it.

Hey Donald,

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry to hear the Max Wild wasn't a good fit your you. Perhaps you'll get more out of it the next time you try it. :)
Ps, love the bird on your head! :D

Trying yet

I am not confident to comment yet but it is not much different.

Very good so far

The Max Wild prototype has been very impressive thus far. Usually with these types of “easy” distance discs, they need space to ride a big turn to get a ton of distance. On the few test throws I did, I threw on slight hyzer, it stood up to flat and just went straight for the majority of its flight. I got 440 ft on one of those test flights. My furthest ever is 450 with a big anhyzer release w/lightweight. I really appreciate that this disc can handle decent power (I’m 390-400ft for most power shots). Very impressive again, and intrigued by how it performs in the future.

Great feeling disc and it does go far!! Shipment

Great feeling disc and it does go far and I love it for my max distance open shots!! Shipment was delayed and I got it later than expected but I got it just in time, a day before a tournament that had a distance competition.
My friend won the distance competition with it. He threw 576 feet!!

Great flyer and it bombs

Great flyer and it bombs, personally I love the ballista in gold plastic but its stable for gold plastic other ones were too understable and became rollers in gold plastic. The max wild allows for me to have less fear in losing my ballista. Now I just need a ballista pro in max plastic

I don't have the arm speed

I'll start by saying that i don't have the arm speed for a 14 speed disc. I had a 2 round tournament this past weekend and got lots of reps in with the max wild prototype. I threw it several times in practice rounds and several times in the tournament rounds. Each time came with the same results. Pretty overstable for my arm speed.i figured out that I could throw it better on a forehand flex line to get a little more carry than my normal 12sp forehand throw. I think this technology would work better in a slower speed for an amateur player. 14 is just to much disc for me

New personal record

Flew incredibly well. I usually throw around 300-330’ with my current farthest flight being a grace at 343 and a Bolt on hyzer flip at 360. The Max Wild was able to beat both without flipping at all putting up a 398!!! Missing 400 by just a few feet and setting a new Personal Record for me.

173 gram Wild competes with but cannot

For a max weight 173 gram Max Wild out of the box is impressive. It comes close to but cannot outdistance my 162 VIP Air King which I threw 350, my 169g VIP Sword, and my 172g Kastaplast Alva in K1 Grind which came in just behind the King. The Wild was about 10-15 feet behind the 162 King. If the Wild beats in for me, if it was lighter and if it had less fade, it would outdistance my favorites.
I think the technology of weight distribution is a great idea and will make molds like the Strive and the Ballista Pro which are also favorites of mine go farther.

Finally dry enough to go throw

It finally was dry enough to go throw. Hey, this is western NY.

It performs very well. I don't currently have the arm this disc needs for optimal performance.
It will hold the line, turns well and fades out harder than I like but I can work that out.
I'm not a big overstable disc guy.

However this, this is changing my opinion.
Tomorrow it's either back to the practice field or possibly, a real course.

I'm going to enjoy learning this disc and improving my skills.

Thank you for such a varied line of products, the care from design to shipping, and Frida.
Always Frida.

Clever Name to match what it does

The disc, did exactly for me what the name suggests...I got my max distance with it. I got great flights out of it, my only complaint is the feel of the disc is so slick, mine almost feels like it will slip out of my hand. I washed it and helped a little but its slick a bit slick in my hand. I hope the more I beat it in my hand will get used to it or it will get better in time. But its a great disc I love the flight I get and getting about 350, which is great for my noodle arm.

A Colorado Review from 5,280 feet

A truly great disc. After throwing a couple practice shots, it replaced my stable, max distance driver slot (I’ve been between the Innova Halo Star Shryke and Q-line DD3). I love the Grand Royal plastic feel, so I was so excited when this came out. This disc truly delivered. Perfect stability at a higher altitude, and it complements my Grand Royal Strive very well, based on what shot shape I need. Consistently added 20-25’ from my previous distance drivers. I can’t wait to take it to Florida and see what it can do at sea level.

I am super impressed with this disc! I can

I am super impressed with this disc! I can forehand it, I can shape lines and it has a super dependable fade. I got my first Ace with it two days after I received it in the mail directly from Latitude! The Wild will definitely stay in my bag and I can’t wait for the final version!

Hi Jake! Congratulations on your ace and thank you for sharing your experience. We're thrilled to hear the Max Wild - Prototype is working so well for you. :) Happy disc golfing! /Frida

Max Wild vs Ballista Pro

I have only thrown the Max Wild a few times but was mainly seeing if it was a further thrower than my ballista pro that is my furthest thrower right off the bat it had similar distances consistent 450 ft and longer. I think as I learn to trust the stability I will get more accurate distance from this disc. For a 14 speed the rim seems very reasonable in the hand compared to others and I believe more people will like that. I have fairly big hands so I don’t mind and actually prefer the larger rim of the ballista pro.

My only critique would be that I think it should have more dome.. when I look for max distance ballista pro I look for the most dome and get the best flight for max distance. I believe this disc with a little more dome could actually go further than my ballista pros that I bag but as of now I think my ballista pros are getting a little more distance.

The Max plastic seems nice and grippy but different than gold or royal grand I will have to continue to throw it to really see how much I like it but it does seem like premium plastic.

I'm not going to lie, this thing opened up

I'm not going to lie, this thing opened up that next level for me. I was barely hitting 325 and couldn't figure out how to hit 350. The very first throw 360. My last drive of the day, 378 feet. Grip it and rip it this thing loves the speed.

Got One and IMMEDIATLEY bought another.

I wanted to share some info BEFORE throwing. I am not a "big arm guy". But on a good day with 10-15 mph wind I can get a Ballista out to 400 feet. The properties on this disc are what got my attention. They are just like the Ballista except with glide 6. So I SHOULD be able to throw it farther. I ordered immediately. Then when I got it, if felt so good in my hand and was quite flat I BOUGHT ANOTHER. Still haven't thrown but felt this info was helpful. FEELS great for forehand too!!! I'll let you know. Thanks LAT 64

Very interesting disc!

Very interesting disc!

First of all it flys very far. Easy 50-75 feet further than my furthest flying destroyer. I was able to throw over 500ft, it flew under stable but not uncontrollable even from the first throw. Feels more like a 12 speed in the hand than a 14 speed.

The only concerning aspects of the disc are how sticky the plastic was out of the box and the flashing on the underside of the rim. Flashing is an instant frustration when choosing a disc for me.
