Yes! Disc golf is great solo or with friends. It’s a fun way to get outside and enjoy some peaceful competition with yourself.

Not at all. Good technique matters more than strength — and lighter, beginner-friendly discs help a lot!

Yes! Many kids love it. Just start with lightweight discs and short courses. It’s fun, active, and easy to pick up.

Of course! Discs don’t care which hand you use. Lefties just learn to adjust the angle and flight the same way righties do.

A typical round takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the course and how many people you're playing with.

Disc Golf Terms

Learning a few common disc golf terms will help you feel right at home on the course. Here's a handy glossary you can check anytime!

🌀 Overstable
A disc that curves more sharply at the end of its flight (usually left for right-handed backhand throws).

🌀 Understable
A disc that turns more to the right during flight (for right-handed backhand throws). Easier to throw for beginners

🏎️ Speed
How fast a disc needs to be thrown to fly well. Lower speeds are easier to control — great for beginners.

🌬️ Glide
How well a disc stays in the air. More glide = longer flights.

↩️ Turn
How much a disc turns during the early part of its flight.

⤴️ Fade
How much a disc curves at the end of its flight.

🚫 OB (Out of Bounds)
Areas you’re not supposed to land in — like water, roads, or marked zones.

🚧 Mando (Mandatory)
A designated path you must follow — usually marked by a sign or arrow. If you miss it, you’ll often have to throw from a drop zone with a penalty.

📍 Drop Zone
A designated spot where you throw from if your disc lands out of bounds or misses a mandatory. Think of it as a fair re-throw spot.

🎯 Ace
When you throw the disc straight into the basket from the tee — a hole-in-one!

↙️ Hyzer
A throw where the disc is angled downward (leftward curve for right-handed backhand).

↘️ Anhyzer
A throw where the disc is angled upward (rightward curve for right-handed backhand).

Forehand (or Sidearm)
A throwing style where the disc is flicked from the side, palm forward.

Backhand
The most common throw — like a traditional frisbee throw.
